Family Resource Centers are...

The goal of centers is to enhance students' abilities to succeed in school and to remove any barriers to a child's success. Families First assists children, youth and families to not only meet their basic needs but also to link them with community agencies and a variety of other resources and services. Our center is especially helpful to at risk children and families.

The mission of Families First in the Danville Schools is to promote the flow of resources and provide support to families in ways that strengthen their functioning and enhance the growth and development of individual members and the family unit. We are a link for children and their families to educational, social, and health services in the Danville/ Boyle County community.

Families First, serving elementary school students and families, offers these required services:

• Assistance with full-time child care for children 2 and 3 years of age
• Assistance with after-school child care for children ages 4 to 12
• Health and education services for new and expectant parents
• Education to enhance parenting skills and education for preschool parents and their children
• Support and training for child care providers
• Health services or health services referrals
